Bianca’s Story
Bianca was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio and decided to attend the University of Cincinnati where she chose to study Biomedical Engineering. During her first year, she met Tyler in her Freshman year Learning Community where they had all the same classes but only spoke a few times. Fast forward to third year when Bianca & Tyler finally had a conversation and started dating. They continued to date as Bianca spent 7 months in Germany for a co-op, mid-distance through the beginnings of Covid which turned into long distance again when Bianca returned to Germany for 3 months for another job. Eventually she made the decision to return home and take a job as a packaging engineer in Cincinnati, while Tyler worked remote for his job in Florida from Cincinnati. Shortly after, Tyler had to move down to Florida while Bianca purchased a home in Madisonville Cincinnati.
After all the distance, Bianca decided to take a leap of faith and accepted a new job in Fort Lauderdale Florida as she packed up all the plants and the dog to take over Tyler’s apartment. Today, Bianca loves walking Berkley, looking for shells and shark teeth at the beach, exploring new coffee shops and plant nurseries, and spending all the time she can with Tyler in their new home.
Tyler’s Story
Tyler grew up in Mansfield, Ohio and attended the University of Cincinnati to study Biomedical Engineering, with the plans to eventually go to medical school. However, he found an interest in robotics and decided in tandem to get his Masters degree in Robotics. Although Tyler and Bianca shared many of the same classes, they did not start dating until their third year of school. While Bianca had internships in Germany, Tyler remained in Cincinnati and worked at J&J.
Tyler graduated with his bachelors and masters in 2020, right after the COVID epidemic began. He accepted an engineering job at Stryker, working with surgical robotics. During COVID, Tyler worked remotely from Cincinnati where he and Bianca got a puppy, Berkley.
Eventually, Tyler had to move down to Florida for his position and Bianca remained in Cincinnati working at P&G. The distance was hard but eventually, Bianca moved down to Florida (and brought Berkley). Tyler currently spends his time ‘trying’ to find shark teeth at the beach, home projects, going to the gym, and attempting to make Kombucha!
Our Relationship
Bianca and Tyler first met during their Freshman year of College when they were both assigned to the same Learning Community. This meant that they had all the same classes together and extended study groups. They only spoke a few times within the first three years and it wasn’t until 3rd year, when there was no where else to sit, and Tyler was forced to sit next to Bianca. His first words were “Ew i have to sit next to Bianca” in which Bianca side eyed and gave a chuckle. Later that weekend, one of their fellow classmates was having a birthday party in which Bianca and Tyler ended up talking more, leading to a kiss in the alley and Tyler helping Bianca break into her College house’s 1st story window. This was their beginning.
They dated for 6 months before Bianca left for a co-op in Germany for 7 months where they continued to date and FaceTime during the 6 hour time difference. Bianca returned home and both her and Tyler finished out their 5th year of Biomedical Engineering just for Covid to hit right before spring break and lead to a virtual graduation. Tyler accepted a job at Stryker in Weston Florida where he worked remote from Cincinnati and Bianca took another internship in Mannheim Germany for a few months before returning home and accepting a full time job at Procter & Gamble in Cincinnati.
They moved into a nice apartment together in Cincinnati where they got their first puppy together, Berkley. They lived there for 6 months until Covid regulations were lifted and Tyler was required to move down to Florida. They continued to do distance, Bianca in Cincinnati, Tyler in Florida and 6 months later Bianca bought a house in Madisonville Cincinnati.
Eventually the distance became too much and Bianca decided to sell her home, pack up the dog and the plants, and move to Fort Lauderdale with Tyler.
They now live in a house with a yard for Berkley, who could play catch all day long, and enjoy spending time at the beach, going to the gym, cooking and baking together, binging shows, taking walks and finally enjoying all of the time they can share together.
